In the heart of Tuscany, in the splendid Valdelsa, just a stone’s throw from the famous Chianti hills, lies the enchanting medieval village of Certaldo Alto. Walking through its alleys and ancient streets, you feel as if you are meeting the young Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, who lived here and whose house and tomb can be visited. In this still untouched and unspoiled place, in a magnificent position, stands the Ristorante L’Antica Fonte, an enchanted venue with a stunning panoramic terrace overlooking green hills and the towers of San Gimignano.

On long summer evenings and under the midday sun, visitors, amidst the scent of flowers and sweet musical notes, can enjoy our dishes born from the Tuscan tradition, but skillfully revisited, in complete relaxation and with a touch of romance.

Inside, you can also enjoy our proposals, not only in summer but also in winter, in a cozy, air-conditioned environment, surrounded by walls that still evoke their medieval past, creating a romantic atmosphere.

The Cuisine

Our “express” cuisine, with dishes prepared instantly, is based on the use of top-quality ingredients. Our working method stems from the desire to guarantee freshness, enhance taste, and rediscover the flavors of our history.

First courses are cooked with fresh pasta and ingredients that, depending on the season, give rise to different dishes. The tasty second courses range from the classic Florentine Steak to various proposals, delights for the most refined palates: the delicious compositions of Cinta Senese Salami, cheese selections, and finally our homemade desserts.

Each season, the menu is varied, and to ensure product quality, we use everything that can be easily sourced in the composition of the dish. The cellar, the result of careful research, offers a selection of labels, with particular attention to wines from our territory.
